We are hiring a General Manager to lead and develop all aspects of the business at the Railway Preservation Society Ireland (RPSI) - and we would love to hear from you.
The Railway Preservation Society Ireland has been involved in the preservation and restoration of steam locomotives and carriages since 1964. The Society has grown dramatically since then and now has a five-gallery museum in Whitehead and operates many excursions across the island of Ireland every year, transporting passengers by steam to evoke memories of the past and create memories which we hope will live long in the minds of our customers. This role is key to the continuing success of the Society in both operating jurisdictions. The successful applicant will build on progress made and increase the reach of the Society and the attraction that is Whitehead Railway Museum. They will work to increase footfall and cement the Society’s reputation as a leading tourist attraction and a museum with a collection of national significance.
This role is of strategic importance to the operation and growth required by the Society. In this regard, the successful applicant will have responsibility for financial probity, including the generation of new income streams, management of staff and volunteers, partnership management and development of stakeholder engagement, property management and, in conjunction with the Board, proper governance of the Society.
