All Aboard For Christmas

Dates: 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 21st December

This December, step into the magic of Christmas at Whitehead Railway Museum. With the glow of twinkling lights, the hiss of steam, and the nostalgic charm of the railway, this is a traditional Christmas experience designed to delight all ages.

From the moment you arrive, the sights and sounds of our historic railway will set the scene for a truly special day. With twinkling lights, festive decorations and plenty of Christmas cheer, All Aboard for Christmas brings together the nostalgia of heritage railways with the excitement of meeting Santa and his helpers.

Your Christmas adventure begins with a 10-minute steam train ride within the museum premises. Climb aboard one of our heritage carriages where some of Santa's elves will be waiting to meet you along the way. With the hiss of steam, the sound of the locomotive and a little elfish mischief, it's the perfect start to your Christmas visit.

Back at the station, there is plenty more festive fun waiting for you. Children can write and post their letter to Santa, making sure their Christmas wishes are safely on their way to the North Pole.

You'll also get the chance to meet the wonderful Mrs Claus, who will be joining us at Whitehead this Christmas and helping to spread plenty of festive cheer before the big day.

Of course, no Christmas visit would be complete without meeting the man himself. Step into Santa's beautifully decorated grotto, where every child will have their own special opportunity to meet Father Christmas, tell him what they're hoping for this Christmas and receive a present to take home.

Before your adventure comes to an end, there'll be time for some delicious festive fun as children decorate their own gingerbread person. They can also get hands-on and make their very own bag of magical reindeer food to take home. Mix up a special treat for Rudolph and his friends, ready to sprinkle outside on Christmas Eve to help guide Santa's reindeer to your home.

Our cafe will also be open throughout the event, serving tasty treats and refreshments for anyone looking to make their visit last a little longer. Our carriage shed will also be open for you to explore during your visit.

Spaces are limited and our Christmas events are always extremely popular, so early booking is strongly recommended.

Please arrive on site at least 15 minutes before your allocated time slot - we cannot hold trains for late arrivals.
