Steam Whitehead

Visit the picturesque seaside town of Whitehead to experience the magic of steam.

On the historic 1907 platform at Whitehead Excursion Station you’ll board our train for a short (10 to 15 minute) trip within our premises. Hauled by our preserved steam locomotive No.3BG "Guinness", you will travel in one of our heritage carriages - you will be transported to a bygone era.

Included in your ticket price is a train ride and admission to our 5-gallery Museum (allow at least an hour).

We’ll also have extra games and activities for children, making it a perfect day out for families. Our sensory room will be open throughout the event and sensory bags will be available to borrow, helping ensure a welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone.

Afterwards, you can treat yourself to tea/coffee and snacks in our café.
