Itinerary

Dublin - Waterford - Limerick - Ballybrophy - Dublin

Price

€75 / €45

We are delighted to announce our latest diesel-hauled (071) railtour.

The journey out of Dublin will be a fast one along the mainline, passing through The Curragh of Kildare and then for a pickup at Kildare. We will then turn left at Cherryville Junction and head south along the Waterford line passing through Carlow and taking the direct curve at Lavistown and head to to our first reversal of the day at Waterford.

A change of locomotive has been requested at Waterford and after a quick break, we head west towards Tipperary. We will take up the running with the traditional sempahore signals as we pass through Carrick on Suir, Clonmel, Cahir and Tipperary. We then head straight across the flat junction at Limerick Junction and into Limerick for a late lunch break.

A swap of loco with the Limerick pilot has been requested (subject to availiability) and we depart for the "Nenagh" branch line. Not before long we are in North Tipperary. Again under the control of semaphore signal we travel on the branch line through Nenagh and Roscrea before joining the mainline at Ballbrophy. Following some shunt manoeuvres we will be away on the mainline back to the capital and terminate at Dublin Connolly.
